Récital 20 Asterium – Painting the night skyA blue piece of sapphire, painted with white and luminescent dots, makes Récital 20 an astronomical tool, of scientific accuracy. The night sky is probably the largest thing in the world, literally. Any given night, when the clouds allow it, one can grasp a view of... well, the infinite kingdom of space, millions of stars and almost a hundred constellations. In order to make sense of it all, the Greeks, and Ptolemy in particular, started connecting the dots and drew symbols in that maze of shining objects. They became the constellations. Bovet has decided to shrink them, draw them and light them up inside Récital 20.Compared to the real thing, Récital 20s sky chart is very very small. But it is accurate. It accomplishes a yearly revolution according to Récital 20s calendar. It is covered by a 24-hour curved hand, which gives time, acts as a compass and also as a window, framing what part of the sky is visible on any given day. The most striking feature of that blue dome is the chart itself. 22 constellations and celestial objects are laser-etched on it, which reflects what mankind can actually see up there near the 45th parallel, where most of humanity resides. They are painted with SuperLumiNova. White on blue during the day, these connected dots are bright and clear during the night, just like the actual stars above.#Bovet #Bovet1822 #hautehorlogerie #swissmade #wristwatch #craftsmanship #Récital20 #annualcalendar #stars #astronomy #stargazing

Récital 20 Asterium – Painting the night sky

A blue piece of sapphire, painted with white and luminescent dots, makes Récital 20 an astronomical tool, of scientific accuracy.

Bovet has decided to shrink them, draw them and light them up inside Récital 20.

Compared to the real thing, Récital 20's sky chart is very very small. But it is accurate. It accomplishes a yearly revolution according to Récital 20's calendar.
