Amadeo Fleurier 43
Hours, Minutes
When he became the sole owner of the Maison BOVET 1822 in 2001, Mr. Raffy immediately boosted the decorative arts. At a time when the trend and fashion were for futurism, he developed and ensured the longevity of professions that had all but disappeared, such as artistic engraving, miniature painting and the art of enameling. Unique pieces and customized timepieces today represent one third of the timepieces manufactured annually by BOVET 1822 and bear witness to collectors’ attachment to artistic craftsmanship.
During the annual presentation of the collections, BOVET 1822 is in the habit of offering a selection of unique pieces boasting miniature painting or grand feu enameling. This year, the artisans have reinterpreted an array of collectors’ most beloved themes with a new inspiration.
Three timepieces for men complete the collection. Two of them represent Chinese dragons. This theme has been found in BOVET collections since 1822, of which the Emperor of China himself was a keen collector. Which explains this theme’s success and credibility not only in Asia but worldwide.
A golden dragon on the blue back of the decorative dial of the convertible 43 mm-diameter Amadéo case in red gold. Another expression was chosen for the white gold version of the same timepiece. Here a brightly colored dragon stands out against the dark mother-of-pearl back.

The final timepiece in this collection features a white tiger. Of all the animals, it is one of the most difficult to reproduce in dimensions as small as those of a dial. Each hair of its thick fur is individually painted by the artisan, who uses a microscope to precisely guide their brush’s single marten hair. And, despite the work’s extreme miniaturization, the slightest imprecision is simply unacceptable.

Mr. Raffy and the Maison BOVET’s artists and artisans are therefore proud to have combined their talents and virtuosity to manufacture a collection whose poetry and excellence pay tribute to collectors the world over, whose loyalty helps ensure the longevity of the professions and know-how that are the pillars of our passion for the finest watchmaking.
