The Amadeo concept
The AMADEO case concept unveiled in 2010 stemmed from seven years of research. This ingenious system, stemming from a dream cherished by Pascal Raffy ever since he acquired Bovet in 2001, enables collectors to simply and easily transform their timepiece into a wristwatch, a table watch, as well as a pocket watch in the case of mens models or a pendant watch for ladies models.The entire Fleurier collection was immediately equipped with this new feature, without any of the models requiring the slightest modification in terms of its size or aesthetic appeal.WristwatchThe AMADEO case naturally enables the owner to wear the watch in the traditional manner on the wrist, as had previously been the case for the entire Fleurier collection.Table clockThe AMADEO case has been equipped with invisible pushpieces integrated into the two characteristic cabochons positioned on either side of the bow. Simultaneously pressing the two cabochons releases the upper section of the strap.The lower bezel ring is fitted with a mysterious pushpiece, which causes it to pivot on the axis of an invisible hinge at 6 oclock that detaches the lower strap section from the case. The lower bezel ring thus unfolds to become a base to support the watch now converted into an elegant table clock.Pocket watch (mens models) or pendant watch (ladies models)After closing up the lower bezel ring a chain can be inserted into the bow instead of the upper strap section, thus turning the timepiece into either a pocket watch or a pendant watch.Reversible watchAll timepieces in the Fleurier collection are equipped with a sapphire crystal case-back revealing the movement. Some of them feature reversed hand-fitting serving to read the time or to admire the engraving on the movement, or an enamelled miniature. By simply reversing the direction of the two strap sections, the user can easily choose to display either the front or back of the watch on the wrist.Reliability and securityThe AMADEO concept has been designed and tested to guarantee exemplary long-term reliability. All handling operations have been simplified and require no tools, nor any particular dexterity. The exact position of the three pushpieces and the pressure required to activate them have been calculated in such a way as to guarantee they cannot be inadvertently triggered.
